It is with profound sadness that we are advising of the sudden and tragic death of Bev from a heart attack on February 22nd while on vacation in the Bahamas.

She is survived by Jim, love of her life, best friend and husband of 43 years with whom she retired early and was living the dream life.

She is also survived by her sisters, Penny, Jan and Jacquie, whom she loved dearly and talked to every day,  their spouses Stan and Murray, close family friend Kathy, brother Wayne and sister in law Lyn, Mother in law Tine, sister in law Elaine and her spouse Steve and sister in law Audrey.

She was Auntie Bev to Lynsay, Derek, Michael, Jordan, Ray, Ashley, Josie, Maggie, Michelle, Bob, Chelsea and many other children of friends. Her hugs were the best.  She also leaves many boating friends from Royal Vancouver and Thunderbird yacht clubs, neighbor's and friends in Canada, Lake Goodwin, Washington and Scottsdale, Arizona.

She emailed Jim's 94 year old mother every day with pictures and stories of their travels.

The void she leaves for these people is enormous.  She lost both of her parents in their sixties and often commented how sad she was that they passed on so young and missed so much of life. Little did she know she would die younger than they did.

Bev was an extraordinary person. She only had a high school education but  started working with the Scotiabank as a teller and ended up in charge of the entire Province of BC turning down offers to go even higher in Toronto. She accomplished this through her smarts and determination but mainly through the way she dealt with people.  She knew everyone's birthday, their phone number,  the names of their spouses, children and dogs and genuinely cared for everyone of them. People would walk over hot coals to perform for her.   She carried this over into her relationships with friends and family. If she was your friend you were a lucky person.

She was a fabulous organizer to the extent that even people who didn't want to be organized were helpless to resist. She loved children despite never having any of her own but had her beloved dogs Rocky, Bentley and Oscar. She loved cruising the coast with Jim in the Motor Vessel Jobel in the summer and spending winters at their home in Scottsdale in the sun. She loved a glass of Chardonnay and Diet Coke and was trying to learn how to have her steaks cooked less than well done. She was a fabulous cook and entertainer and loved any kind of game.  Woe be to you if you didn't want to play.

This website has been set up as a permanent memorial to her.

Please hug your loved ones every day just in case you never

see them again. Donations in her memory should be made to
